Leoni / Mastrangelo – Italy

Francesca Leoni & Davide Mastrangelo’s research focuses on the human condition in our modern society, studied from multiple perspectives. Their works are dominated by male/female relationships, under multiple social dimensions from the relationship between the couple, to the customs and habits of peoples, to ideological and religious instrumentations – of which they offer symbolic examples created in “performative pictures”. The duo is currently included in international festivals and events.
Alzaia(s), 2019

Alzaias is a work inspired by Telemaco Signorini’s painting, that explores the relationship between people and power. It has a strong historical backgound but interrogates about the future of society and its symbols.
